Youth empowerment

Youth are the future leaders of their Peoples. We work with communities to design and facilitate projects that inspire young people to become involved in community life, that connect them with their identity and build their leadership skills and self-confidence.

Video is a proven way to engage youth and connect them with their community. It offers a medium for young people to express themselves and contribute their unique perspectives and ideas for community building. Young people can grow as individuals and forge bonds as a group when they work together to create videos and share them with their communities.

Video training and production workshops can be the foundation of a stand-alone project to involve young people in community life or can be integrated into existing projects to encourage youths' participation.

The camera can act as a particularly effective bridge for intergenerational communication, uniting youth and Elders around video projects that record traditional knowledge and practices while passing them on to the new generations.
